A Romantic Elopement on the Streets of Paris
Have you ever dreamed of an elopement in Paris? Such an incredibly romantic thing to do. Hannah and Mitch decided to do just that and I’m so happy to share these breathtaking images of their elopement that were captured by the ridiculously talented Craig George. Based in Paris, but shooting worldwide, Craig is a real artist, his work has an authenticity that is so beautiful and unique. I am a huge fan of his photography and was so excited when he approached me to feature these amazing images.
I know you are going to love his work as much as I do and we have an extra treat to enjoy, this 4 minute film that Craig shot on the day too.
I personally have a very fond place for Paris in my heart. I got engaged on the day before New Year’s Eve on the steps of the Sacre Coeur in Montmartre, as the night fell and the snow fell too. We asked another tourist to take our photo and then we walked round the corner to a cosy cafe and drank tea out of small coffee cups and basically planned the day there and then.
Magic happens in those little Parisian cafes, love stories told and made. The Parisian part of Hannah and Mitch’s love story started in a cafe too, for a pre-wedding shoot with Craig. The couple loved the experience so much that it stayed in their thoughts beyond their wedding day.
Hannah and Mitch are originally from Canada but have recently moved to Lille for Mitch’s work. Hannah is an amazing food blogger and is currently enjoying the new cuisine opportunities offered by her new home.
The couple were married in the Dordogne in the summer surrounded by friends and family. Their wedding was truly stunning and everything they had hoped for. After the wedding the couple were still drawn by the allure of Paris and their pre-wedding shoot. They spoke with Craig as they wanted to capture a beautiful intimate moment after the wedding back in Paris and so they planned a simple elopement.
They agreed a place to meet and Hannah wrote some beautiful, spontaneous vows on a little paper napkin in the cafe to read out to Mitch.
This stunning elopement is shot entirely in black and white film. Craig shot with film in a camera from the sixties, it gives the photographs that beautifully timeless feel.
The couple dressed up in their wedding outfits, Hannah’s stunning dress is by New York designer Alvina Valenta and is just so elegant and feminine and looks like it was made just for her and for the Parisian setting.
They met early in the morning in this truly special city, to avoid the crowds, the results are an heirloom. A moment captured perfectly in time.
Huge congratulations to Mitch and Hannah and heartfelt thanks to Craig George for these beautiful images and kind words of support.
Great work Craig !
It’s stunning isn’t it?
Thank you Fred.
