Sophisticated Italian Wedding Inspiration in Cape Town Diner
Today’s beautiful images brings a little Italian passion to the blog, a sophisticated styled inspiration shoot captured in an stunning diner in Cape Town, South Africa.
Photographer Susan du Toit brought the vision to life. Her appreciation and love of capturing emotion delivered a shoot that resonates with our inner craving for passion, love and all the good things in life! This is a shoot that couples can easily re-create and put her own stamp on.
I love the elegance of this shoot and the simple good things in life it represents. Let me hand you over to Susan to tell you more;
The Location
Italian influences in culture are synonymous with passion, fashion, style, great food & romance. Our stunning venue Tiger’s Milk created a perfect backdrop for this passionate shoot with an Italian influence. It is all about giving into the things that inspires your love and makes you feel happy and alive.
Italian Inspiration
The only thing more seductive than fresh Italian pasta and having gelato for lunch, would be a romantic white dress, a handsome groom and a bit of Italian romance.
The shoot was inspired by a favourite quote;
“They say a good love is one that sits you down, gives you a drink of water, and pats you on top of the head. But I say a good love is one that casts you into the wind, sets you ablaze, makes you burn through the skies and ignite the night like a phoenix; the kind that cuts you loose like a wildfire and you can’t stop running simply because you keep on burning everything that you touch! I say that’s a good love; one that burns and flies, and you run with it!” – C. Joy Bell.
The Flowers
What is love without ‘un mazzolino di fiori’ – A bouquet of flowers? Keeping with the relaxed yet passionate Italian style, Wedding and Event Collection took inspiration from their direct surroundings – the garden. “Using cherry plum and wild olive branches as a base we created a messy – “I just threw this together” – bouquet.”
Fluffy pink peonies, pink garden roses, orange tulips and purple snapdragons were also incorporated. For the brides’ hair, a Succession Leucospermum and her shoes decorated with Eryngium & Kalanchoe.
The Dress
Bride Listelle wore an incredibly sexy backless custom design dress by Lubellos Bridal, next to Kurt’s Italian tailored blue suit, they were the perfect pairing.
Hair and Make-Up
Listelle’s subtle but sexy Italian style was created by Minette Bridal Make Up with hair by Studio S Hair Styling.
The Decor
A great shoot usually comprises of variety, so various bright and soft colours were paired, light blues and natural greens and browns with fiery orange, pink and purple. Keeping the focus on the couple the shoot deems to inspire romance and connection, with the subtle decor of the surrounding allowing this to shine through.
Thank you so much to Susan Du Toit Photography and this wonderful team of creatives for sharing these stunning images with us today. I am inspired and dreaming of Italian romance, as well as a bit of antipasti and a glass of Limoncello for lunch!
with love
