Alex and James – Sunny Burton Dassett Hills Engagement Shoot

Alex and James are getting hitched next month and to celebrate their engagement took to the beautiful hills of Burton Dassett on the edge of the Cotswold for this lovely shoot. Their wedding photographer Will Patrick Weddings captured these fabulous images for the couple.

I’m a big fan of pre-wedding shoots as not only are the results beautiful, it gives the couple the chance to relax in front of the camera and with their photographer. Will has managed to get the couple to really feel at ease and because the location is not only stunning, but has meaning to Alex and James, the results are really natural. I also love the impromptu ice-cream stop!

Will’s photography is informal, relaxed and contemporary and that really comes across in Alex and James’s shoot;

How Did You Meet

We met through mutual friends at a party on Boxing Day in Alex’s home town of Worcester…our first date was then New Year’s Day in London where we went to a BBQ restaurant and shared ribs and chicken wings!

The Proposal

James proposed on Sunday 29th January 2015 at the top of a hill in the country park, Burton Dassett which is on the edge of the Cotswolds. From the beacon where he proposed you could see Worcester, where I grew up, Solihull, where James grew up, and where we live now in Warwick. Prior to the walk at Burton Dassett James planned a weekend filled with great food, a meal at our favourite restaurant and a lazy Sunday morning breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (food plays a big part in our relationship!).

Before he actually proposed James (always the joker), said ‘I’ve got a present for you’ and got out of his pocket a blue plastic ring which he’d got in a cracker at Christmas! My heart was beating so fast as I thought he was going to pull out a proper ring…which after about 30 seconds of me looking confused and disappointed he did! After the joke ring he got down on one knee, opened up a ring box with a beautiful diamond ring and asked me to marry him.

Burton Dassett Hills

We chose to go back to Burton Dassett as it’s such a beautiful location. We were really lucky with the weather and even managed to flag down an ice cream van to add to the pics!

Burton Dassett Engagement shoot
The Bling

The ring was from Peter Stephan in Royal Leamington Spa. James chose the ring because he knew it would be one I’d love, I’m also a massive fan of Disney so it had to be a princess cut!

Burton Dassett Engagement shoot
Favourite Moment from the Shoot

The picture with the ice cream van is brilliant, we literally flagged him down! I also love the ones with us by the beacon as that’s where James proposed and the ones when we’re laughing – Will asked us to say something to make each other laugh…I’m not going to say what James said but it makes me smile every time I think about it!!

Any Advice for Others Having a Pre-wedding Shoot

Although we’d met Will and knew he was great, we were both a bit unsure what to expect and thought it would be really awkward being photographed, but we couldn’t have been more wrong. We had such a lovely afternoon with Will it was like going for a walk with a friend who happened to have a camera! So the advice we’d give is relax, don’t over think it and enjoy the experience, choose a location where you feel comfortable as well!

Our photo shoot has made us so excited for the big day now, it’s one less thing to worry about/feel anxious about and we can’t wait to see what amazing shots Will will get at the wedding!

Burton Dassett Engagement shoot

I love this pre-wedding shoot, it’s so relaxed and natural. Congratulations to Alex and James on their engagement and wishing you both the best day next month for your wedding. I can’t wait to see the images of your big day.

Huge thanks also to Will of Will Patrick Weddings for these great images, be sure to check out his website for more of his beautiful work.

with love

Gorgeous Thrift Store Find Dress for Handmade Hereford Water Garden Wedding

Gorgeous Thrift Store Find Dress for Handmade Hereford Water Garden Wedding

Gorgeous Thrift Store Find Dress for Handmade Hereford Water Garden Wedding

This beautiful handmade wedding, is truly inspirational. Lucy and Mark’s celebration shows just how brilliant a day you can create when you are lucky enough to be surrounded by wonderful friends and family to help you enjoy the journey of planning your wedding. The couple and their family and friends created almost every element of the day themselves, with the help of some well chosen wedding suppliers. I love all the little details, the personalised ceramic napkin holders made by Lucy’s mum, an artist, the handmade bridesmaid dresses, the shawls knitted by the bride and the stunning flowers, many arranged by the wedding party.

I also adore the fact that Lucy didn’t plan to get her stunning wedding dress from a charity shop, that it was just serendipity. It fits her perfectly, was such a lucky find and was also for a good cause!  So brilliant all round. I’ve always loved the line from that Sheryl Crow song, If It Makes You Happy;

“We went searching, through thrift store jungles, found Geronimo’s rifle, Marilyn’s shampoo and Benny Goodman’s cursive pen”

Because its true, you do never know what wonderful charity treasures you’ll find and what stories you’ll imagine or new memories you’ll make. I once found a dress for a student ball rummaging around our local charity shop, it was amazing, a pale blue vintage 1970’s halter neck chiffon dress…it fitted me perfectly, I loved it, it made me feel incredible when I wore it, it was just perfect! So get rummaging folks, you never know what gems you might find, maybe even a perfect dress like Lucy.

Lucy and Mark were married on the 23rd of July last year in the beautiful surroundings of Westonbury Mill Water Gardens in Hereford, they chose a great guy, Che Birch-Hayes Photography for their wedding. Che has a wonderful relaxed and gentle style, capturing the emotions and all the details in an authentic and charming way, the light and colour in his photography is captivating. So let me now hand you over to bride Lucy to tell you more about their day;

We met whilst studying at university in Newcastle in 2009. We got engaged in June 2015 on the side of a hill in the Cotswolds.

The Venue

We found the most amazing venue partly by chance – it was a outdoor water gardens, Westonbury Mill Water Gardens that is incredibly natural so this inspired the rest of our wedding.

The gardens looked really beautiful and matched the natural style we were looking for. The owners were lovely, and spent a lot of time answering our questions. They had only hosted a few weddings before and were therefore very open to accommodating anything we wanted.

The Dress

The dress was bought from Clic-Sargeant charity shop. I went in with my mom and godmother for fun. After a few…interesting… dresses, they gave me this one to try on. It fit perfectly and I loved it so that was it!

I also wore my mom’s veil, some leather boots from a vintage shop, A necklace with Whitby jet (a family tradition) and fresh flowers in my hair.

Hair and Make Up

Lucy’s gorgeous hair was styled on the day by talented wedding hairdresser Tabitha MacCurrach-Paine , with her pretty natural look make up by Grace of Grace Beauty.

Photography

The couple chose Che Birch-Hayes Photography to capture their celebrations. Their wedding planning was trans-continental as Lucy was in South Africa for a lot of it of the times;

As well as having pictures we loved, Che was willing to Skype Mark in the UK and me in South Africa! Che was friendly, unpretentious and genuinely wanted to listen to what was important to us and our families. He made an effort to see the venue prior to the wedding to get ideas and to hear ours. We loved his enthusiasm throughout, and appreciated his respectfulness on the day.

Handmade Bridesmaids Dresses

The pretty bridesmaids dresses in different colourful fabrics were all handmade by the bridal party, a huge task, but worth it as they looked amazing;

Stupidly, we decided to make all the (seven) bridesmaids dresses ourselves. The fabric was from George, South Africa, and Hereford. Dresses were made by Lucy, Mark’s mom and the bridesmaids.

Their shoes were from Clarks and the girls wore fresh flowers in their hair. All the bridesmaids shrugs were handmade too, knitted by Lucy and her mom. Their necklaces were made by Isla Clay.

The Ceremony

My Aunt Joyce played a processional and recessional that she had written and played at several of my family members’ weddings. It was somewhat of a challenge getting a piano into a field, but it was completely worth it!

Flowers

Lucy’s bridal bouquet, the corsages and buttonhole were all created by the incredibly talented Caroline Ede of Rough Acre Wedding Flowers.

The rest of the flowers were from flower wholesalers in Spaulding, Lincolnshire. This allowed us to get a tremendous range of colours and flowers. We had a great team of friends and family putting together the bridesmaids bouquet and decorations, led by Mark’s mom and sister in law. Jenny, Marks sister decorated an archway with the foliage from Mark’s parents garden and the flowers.

Stationery and Favours

The Save the Dates and the invitations were designed by my sister, Rosie. We couldn’t have been more pleased!

Our wedding favours were a bag of wildflower seeds and a personalised handmade ceramic napkin ring (the perks of a mother who is an artist!)

We found the most amazing venue partly by chance – it was a outdoor water gardens, Westonbury Mill Water Gardens that is incredibly natural so this inspired the rest of our wedding.

We chose Burgoynes because they were local, friendly and very adaptable to our needs.

The Cake

One of the bridesmaids, Hess, handmade the cake, which was a beautiful cake with a layer each of baileys, chocolate and cardamom, and lemon.

Entertainment

We were so lucky with the band that we hired, who were called Hope Street. They were incredibly talented, and they pitched the set list perfectly. All of the guests were up and dancing the entire time!

First Dance

Lucy and Mark took to the floor in their gorgeous marquee for their first dance, choosing the Ellie Goulding song ‘How long will I love you’

Thank you so much to the newly wed’s Lucy and Mark, for allowing me to share their wedding on Adored Bride today. Big thanks also go to Che Birch-Hayes Photography for these beautiful images.

Epic Modern White, Foliage and Gin Inspired Country Wedding by The Crawleys

Epic Modern White, Foliage and Gin Inspired Country Wedding by The Crawleys

Epic Modern White, Foliage and Gin Inspired Country Wedding by The Crawleys

This breathtaking wedding captured by The Crawleys is such a stunningly beautiful day. A charming Cheshire church wedding, an epic confetti throw, a country pub reception and cool marquee wedding breakfast. A marquee decorated with two huge real trees, fairy lights, festoon lighting, silver pineapples, gramophones, lots of foliage and white blooms with metallic accents and gin favours. The couple’s friends and family all got involved, there was a gin bar, ping pong table, photo booth and hay bale seating around firepits for toasting s’mores. It’s just a brilliant day.

I have been so excited to share it with you because it features two of the nicest people, my friends Rob and Jem. Not only is it’s their first wedding anniversary, (congratulations you beautiful beings) …. but their wedding just also happens to be flippin epic too!!!  Jem looked incredible in her bespoke Emma Beaumont two piece dress and her beautiful Sophia Webster flats. I love the subtle boho feather theme too in the brides shoes, the stationery and the grooms cuff links. The whole bridal party looked fabulous, including gorgeous Buddy their dog and there is so much joy and laughter in these pictures.

Rob and Jem chose to have their day captured by the brilliant Liam and Bee of The Crawleys and the images are wonderful. The Crawleys are exceptionally talented and some the friendliest, most down to earth folks you’ll meet and that is exactly what you want at your wedding;

The Engagement

We were walking the dog at sunset one evening and the proposal was a complete surprise. Rob had been down in London, I had been away in Glasgow for work – I bought him some Percy pigs he bought me a Tiffany engagement ring!

We planned our wedding in 11 months and went for a white and green colour theme with mixed metallic accents in rose gold, silver, gold and copper throughout. We were looking to create an informal feel with olive trees, succulents and eucalyptus festoons. The feel was slightly scandinavian, a clean white look with wood, metallic candle holders, terrariums, exposed metal poles etc so slightly industrial. Gin was also a theme!

The Dress

Jem wore a stunning bespoke two piece by Emma Beaumont Design in Knutsford Cheshire.

I went with a Pinterest board to Emma and a strong idea of what I didn’t want. It was an organic process of design guided by fabric choices and Emma’s eye for modernity with classic touches.

Jem completed her amazing look with a beautiful Emma Beaumont veil and a Folky Dokey dried flower crown.

Hair and Make Up

Gareth from Gareth West Hairdressing created all the hairstyles on the day, with Jayne & Laura at Sensoria from the Wild Boar, applying everyone’s make-up.

Both parties came to my mum’s house to prep us there and we all had manicures and pedis the day before. Gareth, Jayne and Laura were all really efficient and a real calming presence.

Bride’s Accessories

I wore Seraphina flats by Sophia Webster, they were a gift from my sisters who were my bridesmaids. They bought me one shoe each!

I wore pretty earrings from Daisy Jewellery and my bracelet is a family heirloom, a diamond bracelet. Plus I borrowed my Nana’s rose gold Monica Vinader friendship bracelet for the day too.

I had pre-chosen Oilily Flowers perfume but Rob surprised on day with Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia (had also treated both mums and himself to new smells) so I wore both!

The Groom and His Men

Rob wore a jacket and waistcoat from Remus Uomo that he found in Jepson’s of Nantwich. With trousers from Jack Wills, Ted Baker shoes and a Marks and Sparks shirt. Rob wore arrow cufflinks from Massimo Dutti, that fitted with the subtle cupid arrow theme.

The best man and groomsmen wore assorted jackets, all from Jepson’s of Nantwich with trousers from Jack Wills. I really like the look as it reflects their own individual styles but still has a cohesive overall feel. Very smart lads!

The Ceremony

We were married at St Peter’s Church at Little Budworth, it’s local, small and accommodating to pets, so Buddy our dog could be involved!

My daddy gave me away and we walked down the aisle to It’s all about you by Mcfly. We walked back down the aisle to Feel so close by Calvin Harris. Both were played acoustically by Mac Bros who also played during the signing of register.

Rob chose my engagement by himself from Tiffany’s in London, we then both took trip to Bond Street to choose wedding rings.

Stationery

Our stationery was a custom order by Hattie Boo Designs. She designed the table plan, invites, names, tags for gin and order of service. Emma is great and has lot of useful contacts and an amazing studio. She took on board all of our ‘creative’ requests re wording and styling of the invites.

We also hand painted wooded pallets for the menu, order of the day and welcome sign. Our metallic confetti pouches were from Sixpence Paperie on Etsy, which we filled with natural confetti from Shropshire Petals.

Photography by The Crawleys

Rob and Jem chose the talented Liam and Bee of The Crawleys as their weddings photographers. They have won countless accolades having been named in the top 150 wedding photographers in the world, the WORLD!!  I remember Rob telling me they’d booked the Crawley’s, he was so excited. As a photographer himself he is a huge fan of Liam’s work and these amazing images speak for themselves.

I had 700 images to choose from for this blog post and it has been so hard to get the images down to anywhere near a sensible number. Eventually I arrived at these 160 amazing images! But ..sorry not sorry because each one is incredible and every single image I didn’t include was amazing too.

Rob was long time admirer of Liam’s work, especially his documentary style, which is non invasive. Liam was the 2nd thing we booked after the church. He was really supportive, communicative and the pre-wedding shoot and questionnaire help a lot. Ive particularly enjoyed seeing the photos that I’m not in of how other people were living the day. A very good capture takes you right back to the moment.

The Venue

We had a gorgeous marquee in the grounds of the Cholmondeley Arms, we chose it for the casual vibe, it’s location and it’s very good gin selection! The Cholmondeley Arms catered with chilli and nachos (Rob’s favourite and last meal on earth choice) it’s easy for veggies too. Followed by the peanut butter choccy brownie.

The Bride Tribe

The bridesmaids wore stunning 2 piece midnight blue dresses that complimented the design of Jem’s dress. They were also designed and made by Emma Beaumont. The girls wore sparkly flats from Office and Folky Dokey dried flower crowns in their hair. Their accessories were rose gold Chakra earrings, bracelet and rings from Daisy Jewellery.

The Preparations

Julie, Jem’s lovely mum helped massively with the wedding preparations and organisation, including locally sourcing the amazing real trees in the marquee, that were later planted at their family home.

I’m eternally grateful to my mum, she made endless phone calls, emails, chasing suppliers and was overall master coordinator, vision of the marquee when I was struggling with not being able to see it set up before.

We used Rebecca at Pretty Creative – to help us collate ideas, to make final decisions (as we were being very indecisive!), to help source key props like the gramophone and to calm late wedding eve panic.

The Speeches

Rob and Jem had a drinks reception in the Cholmondeley Arms itself and did all their speeches there before heading into the Marquee in the gardens for their wedding breakfast. Such a good idea as it is a beautiful relaxed space and meant that the Groom, Best Man and Father of the Bride could get all the nerves over and enjoy their meal!

The Flowers

Jem and Rob chose Heather from Living Colour for their incredible flowers.

Heather’s style is ideal, natural, informal not chintzy and lets the flowers speak for themselves. She made all of the bouquets, button holes, the arch at church, table arrangements, the foliage from the festoon chandelier, the ‘trees’ in the church and marquee. We had definitely wanted eucalyptus as the base and lots of foliage and went from there, including white peonies!

My mum sourced two large Hornbeam real trees for in the marquee to create a huge focal point. The wedding car flowers were done by auntie Clare.

Favours

Mini-Moon

We went with the dog to Wales for 3 days, it rained a lot, we were very tired and just ate, drank and slept, you will need a short break after but was nice to then wait and look forward to another trip.

The honeymoon was 6 weeks after wedding and was 4 weeks in Malaysia and Indonesia – but that’s a whole epic story in itself…

It was also really nice to attend a wedding soon after ours as a newly married couple, we made very appreciative guests!

Favourite Moment

Choosing a favourite moment is hard….It’s a cliche but having everyone you love all together in one place, it’s overwhelming, all the feels, no tears just insane euphoric delirious smiles.

The best things are likely to be those that you can’t plan for, like the hilarity of the cake collapsing or the impromptu family dance circle including those from aged 15 to 80!

On reflection, we wouldn’t have done anything differently, everything that happened to plan (or otherwise) is now a part of a unique amazing day.

Entertainment And Decorations

The rustic gin bar was supplied by Cholmondeley and was a big hit with everyone. We had hay bales around fire pits for s’mores, a ping pong table, large balloons spelling ‘L O V E’ and a Photo Booth from Booths dot co ( who were very efficient). We sourced all the table wear we needed from Corkscrew Hire.

Our festoon lighting and rustic festoon chandelier were supplied by Hipswing. With acoustic music in church from the Mac Bros band, (friends of the bride — through Warble Entertainment)

We borrowed lots from family friends; tablecloths, hanging tea lights, vases and crates. We spray painted pineapples and silver birch branches and bought plant pots white hydrangeas and herbs for fragrance and to have at home after. All the candles were from good old Tk Maxx and B&M.

It was a big team effort the day before including all the bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, siblings and we’re very grateful to them all, it was the day of Brexit vote!

Advice From the Couple

I’d say don’t underestimate the groom! He can be so helpful, even those areas you might assume he’s not actually bothered about! Don’t try to take on too much yourself, when I was stressed about the hairdresser Rob sorted it within half an hour, lots of contacts!

It’s truly about YOU two, as a pair and as individuals. Also don’t check the weather forecast like a maniac it’s literally out of our control, don’t let last minute guest issues get to you either, or political referendums …

Lily and Rose High Summer Collection – Gorgeous Swedish Designed Bridal Jewellery

I recently received a lovely invitation to a Champagne reception to celebrate the launch of the latest jewellery collection from Lily and Rose at their Notting Hill boutique. Much to my disappointment, due to the rather unglamorous reason that I had to do the school run here in Cheshire, I wasn’t able to make it.  Luckily for us though Leanne of Leanne Jade Photography went along for Adored Bride to give us a glimpse of this beautiful collection of jewellery. In Leanne’s words ‘Geez Louise it was gorgeous!”

Lily and Rose is the sister brand of bridal wear design label Zetterberg Couture. Both the bridal wear and the jewellery collection are lovingly designed by Swedish designer Therese Zetterberg. I met Therese at her beautiful stand at White Gallery and I am a huge fan of her vintage inspired but contemporary bridal wear. I absolutely love too that the jewellery brand is named after her 16 year old self’s obsession with the the TV series Sex in the City, I ruddy adore that show! Lily and Rose are the children of Charlotte, one of the main characters in the show.

Therese explains;

“Lily and Rose is a tribute to the best TV series ever made. I was 16 years old when Sex in the City started and it was my biggest source of inspiration at the time. For three years I was a Carrie Bradshaw lookalike every weekend, quite a success in my hometown!”

On the evening guests were treated to lavender champagne and stunning choux by specialist patisserie Maître Choux. Leanne assures me she ate at least two of these on my behalf!

The  jewellery collection which is available to view in the bridal boutique and also online is a selection of pretty sparkly designs, inspired by what Therese finds beautiful, similar to the inspirations for her line of couture dresses. Mainly fashion and architecture, a mix of vintage and also regal jewels. The jewellery is really beautiful, made with Swarovski with a really accessible price point, a perfect choice for wedding day accessories and also gifts with impact for bridesmaids and others in the bridal party….or any occasion really where a bit of sparkle is in order.

White Gallery Review – Boho Lace, Silhouettes, Bows, Floaty Tulle, Polka Dots, Pearls and Hints of Blue.

Last month I headed down to London (on 4 hours sleep!) for bridal expo White Gallery with amazing wedding photographer, Amy of Amy Faith Photography . We were off to get a first look at the very latest in Bridal Fashion for the coming seasons. We were joined on the journey by lovely Siu of Liberty in Love who was on a buying trip for her award winning online boutique. There was quite a bit of wedding chitter chatter on the train down, although all three of us were slightly quieter on the way back. Poor Amy was pulled here there and everywhere by me, capturing amazing images as she went, from stand to stand to catwalk and back!  So after a full day wedding dress ogling, we were shattered!

White Gallery is a huge international bridal wear industry trade event, showcasing all the upcoming collections from some of the best UK and international bridal designers. Hundreds of bridal boutiques attend the event in order to choose which designers to stock in boutique and to choose the dresses.

White Gallery Trends and Inspiration

The strong trends coming through are that boho lace from very trend led hippie seventies lace through to more formal subtle and delicate cotton lace are big news still.

There were lots of gorgeous bows, big bows on the back of dresses, little bows on waistbands and ribbon tied waist bows too. Where florals were popular in recent years and still present, the colour trends seem to be moving back to blocks of colour. There were gorgeous dusky pale pinks and peach tulles on show, but in particular lots of blues.

We saw blue slips under beaded lace at Theia, hand painted blue hydrangeas on 1950’s style silk at Alan Hannah, gorgeous contemporary duck egg blues at Sabina Motasem, blue lace at Katya Katya Shehurina and Zetterberg too . So my pantone predictions for wedding colour in 2018, is definitely blue!

Pretty applique details, statement backs, side bodice detailing, dresses with pockets, separates, beading, pearl beading and polka dots and dot lace were making a strong show to. It made me very happy that there is a huge amount of tulle with lace being used as well as with just gorgeous simple silk strapy tops, just perfect! There was also some strong authentic retro styles coming through based on classic styling from the 40’s, 50’s 60’s and 70’s, Louise Bentley in particular is of note with their beautifully tailored dresses and jackets reminiscent of Jackie O, very sophisticated.

Its very hard to pick a favourite but here are some of what I think were the very best bits of White Gallery this year. Huge thanks again to Amy of Amy Faith Photography for these beautiful images;

JESUS PEIRO
Jesus PEIRO at white gallery 2017

I always love the designs by Jesus Peiro, they are elegantly classic whilst at the same time having a very contemporary edge. On show were bows, dresses with pockets (god I love a dress with a pocket) statement backs, polka dots and amazing cotton lace detailing. The new collection for 2018 METROPOLIS, is basically divine!  Perfect for the bride seeking something fashion led but timeless.

Lovely Marion showed us the collection and in particular I adored these two designs. The lace shoulder details on the dress below contrasting with the delicate polka dot sheer is perfection. The silhouette of the dress and statement back is so beautiful, I get the feeling it’s going to be a favourite. You may recognise the lovely girl modelling it for us, talented model Chloe Keenan, the winner of Britain’s next top model. She was joined by the stunning Maria Garrido who modelled the cotton lace polka dot dress, I love the shape of this dress, such a fun contemporary feel with the stunning skirt and cute cut of the neckline and detail panels at the sides.

SAVANNAH MILLER

Savannah’s stand at White Gallery was beautiful. Avalon’s Song is Savannah Miller‘s second  bridal collection and draws on her inspiration from classic vintage style combined with modern fabrics and embellishments such as the gorgeous pearl beads and sequins. They are exceptionally made, with amazing lines and stunning silhouettes. Perfect for anyone looking for a timeless look with a bit of an edge.

If you were after something a little different, I particularly loved the star lace sheer overlay caplet ‘Edith’, pure boho rock star behaviour!

CHERRY WILLIAMS LONDON

A stunning new British label, it was a real pleasure to meet designer Cherry Williams and her team. This, her stunning debut collection of bridal wear is inspired by her love of Hollywood glamour and the decadence of art deco fashion. To me the collection felt fresh and young and was really well received on the catwalk. The dresses are effortlessly classy, featuring gorgeous fabrics, with designs that play with the layering of luxurious and tactile fabrics, including contemporary laces, elegant sequins, ethereal tulles, and unique appliques.

Cherry also offers the opportunity of personalising your dress, offering a customisation service, where design details such as sleeves can be added and necklines altered. Always good to know.

I loved all of the Cherry Williams designs but particularly the playfulness of gorgeous “Annie” a separates ensemble, a delicate floral appliqué lace top with an open back and tiered pleated mikado skirt trimmed with a floral embroidered hem. I also loved  ‘Pearl’, it’s a modern silk satin short sleeve top which is accented with an almost sculptural draped bow feature at the back.

Absolutely beautiful designs and a must see for any brides and boutiques looking for new fresh classic styles.

CATHERINE DEANE

I absolutely adore Catherine Deane‘s styles, statement backs, amazing fabrics and outstanding details both bold and delicate but utterly feminine. It’s a really diverse collection. We walked past the stand about 5 times but couldn’t get in as it was constantly busy! Finally at the end of the day, we met with the lovely team and they showcased some of their latest design.

We were totally spoiled for choice with the styles on offer within the collection. I really loved the trousers and cami tops, but we chose these three. The first is a really young style with a cute waterfall skirt and delicate lace top. The second is an absolute show stopper with an amazing shape and gorgeous cut out back detail and finally the divine delicate lace utterly bohemian dress with those sleeves! Love it!

I really admire that the designer also supports a wonderful charity The Unlimited Child. For every Catherine Deane dress they sell they make a donation to the charity to supply equipment for the charity to continue their work.

If you love these dresses be sure to check out this recent post on Adored Bride featuring a real bride wearing a Catherine Deane design.

Valentina Gari at IR de Bundo

IR de Bundo has an array of simply gorgeous dresses, this one by Barcelona based designer Valentina Gari really caught my eye. I loved this design for its seventies vibe, the long cuff sleeves with the buttons, the split in the fabric, the neckline…perfect for a winter wedding. Valentina says she draws her style on simplicity and serenity from classic lines and fresh fabrics with movement. Sums up this dress perfectly.

Celebrating her 10th year in bridal fashion lovely, lovely Sabina Motasem shared a sneak preview of her 2018 Collection Siren at White Gallery.

Sabina and her team were starting to relax at the end of the very first day with a glass of bubbly, well why not!  We had a great chat and a bit of a giggle too. The collection is inspired by modern-day muses and is a beautiful array of feminine young designs. I really loved this new style the Valetti dress in duck egg blue satin. The Siren collection also includes slinky and bold separates, high low skirts, pretty silk cami tops and gold sequinned Studio 54 style dresses.

CHARLOTTE BALBIER

A familiar face at White Gallery, was lovely Charlotte Balbier whose own amazing wedding I had the pleasure of being involved in a few years ago. It was lovely to see her and her gorgeous bump! Looking fabulous and still rocking a killer pair of heels even though she is pregnant. As always Charlotte and her team (including her lovely cousin Lucy and her Aunt) treat visitors to the stand with a stunning catwalk show. We enjoyed the show along with a bottle of her trademark pink lemonade with stripy straws, pretty branded love heart sweets and a very tasty pretty ribbon tied wedding cake biscuits by Forest Cake Crafts.

The latest collection by Charlotte Balbier Bohemian Blush is an eclectic and pretty array of dresses, I particularly loved the statement pink tulle dresses, the applique lace bodices, the trademark separates collection and the beautiful shapes. My absolute favourite was a design called Romy, a stunning slim fit lace dress with a cute lace cape…love a dress with a cape!

ALAN HANNAH

I absolutely loved the collection from Alan Hannah, the trend for big bows wereon show and in particular I adored this stunning statement dress, a beautiful silk dress with hand painted hydrangeas. The stand was exceptionally busy but Alan kindly took the time to tell us that every year they try to do a hand painted design for their stunning catwalk show at White Gallery.

The Bridal brand was established in the late eighties. The husband and wife team Alan and Marguerite are really passionate about ensuring the independence and quality of their label and have invested in modern production and training techniques to enable them to continue making the gowns here in London at their bespoke headquarters.

True, authentic vintage styling by  Louise Bentley.  Christine and Jane the designers behind the brand create gorgeous classic vintage style pieces, tea length dresses, dress and jacket ensembles and sophisticated dresses with sixties styling, forties and fifties influences. Using lace, corded lace, beading and luxurious fabrics. Total elegance. Think Priscilla Presley and Jackie O!

KATYA KATYA SHEHURINA

The Katya Katya Shehurina collection was just full of delicate beautiful dresses. I totally loved this blue lace and tulle number and its cute ribbon waist.  All of their vintage inspired wedding gowns are skillfully made under the watchful eye of designer Katya Shehurina in her Riga studio in Latvia.

The dresses are crafted using the finest of materials, modern and vintage inspired French laces, Italian Silks and handmade embellished detailing using Swarovski elements. Their catwalk show was really gorgeous and my favourite was a gown called Chantilly.

Inspired by fashion of the golden age, her designs are complete heirloom pieces. Her catwalk show was breathtaking and Amy’s favourite.
